Evie's first adventure to look at Christmas lights was pretty epic. There's this house a few blocks from where we live that is gushing with holiday cheer. It's all decked out with probably a gazillion lights and every single Christmasy type decoration you could imagine, including a whole section devoted to at least 50 stuffed Christmas teddy bears and Christmas dolls that move and interact with each other. And a life-sized robotic snow man that wiggles and sings. Whoever decorated this place also did not discriminate against non-Christmas decor...I'm pretty sure there was a giant stuffed snake wrapped around one of the palm trees.
There was also a bubble machine.
It doesn't get any better than that.
Though the overall sight of this place is at first slightly overwhelming, it is kind of awesome. After all, someone had to take the time to bestow upon every single inanimate object a bountiful amount of lights. And that is impressive.
I loved looking at the lights most of all...I mean who wouldn't. You can just feel their glittery brightness like a stamp on your eyes. I think Evie enjoyed herself, too. Or she was just thinking Where the heck am I?? the whole time. Nevertheless, this wonderland of wonder was a great way to get in the Christmas mood.
This is also my first post that will go into my category of beautiful things. I think it would be cool to start documenting the things I find beautiful in this world so that I can be thankful for getting to witness or experience them. Things that make my soul feel a little lighter.
I know this might fare better in a tacky things category but, you know, it surely is not everyday you get to experience something like this.
