So, if you read this post I did a while back on some of my favorite things, you'll know that I'm pretty excited about this adult coloring book trend that's happening right now.
It's a brilliant idea. Take one of the things you loved doing most as a kid (well, I did...) and turn it into something hip and sophisticated so you can STILL do it whilst being an adult. Genius.
She just recently self-published her own coloring book called "Aflutter," and I'm so proud of her. I originally thought, what better way to support her than by posting a review for her book? But to makes things even better, when I ordered a couple of them, she was kind enough to throw in a free third copy so I could give one away here!
I thought this way a great way to show some love to all of you who are kind enough to read this little blog of mine.
As you can see, I've already started coloring mine, and I'm having so much fun. I can't wait to finish a page so I can turn it to find out what I'm coloring next. Each drawing is beautifully detailed but not so much so that you're left feeling overwhelmed, like you'll be stuck coloring the same page forever. The pages are also one-sided so you can cut them out and display them when you're done, if you want to.
I love the structured freedom this book gives. You can color at your own pace and stick within the art that is there, but some pages also have a lot of white space for you to maybe add your own drawings and incorporate other elements if you'd like. You can also use whatever supplies you like. I've been using colored pencils; these are my favorite. But the pages are also strong enough to handle markers, and I've thought about using watercolors, too.
This would make an excellent Christmas gift. For someone you love...or to show yourself some love, no judgements here. I did both. And this particular copy is an edited edition and includes some extra coloring pages. Can't beat that. Plus, if you don't win the giveaway or you do win and want to keep it for you, these are super affordable at only $12.95 each. Just in case you'd like to give one to someone else, too.
I just want to give a huge thank you to all of you. There are a lot of words floating out there in this big wide internet world, and so I feel extremely honored and blessed that you have chosen to take the time to read mine. I love you all!
Also, it is important to me to mention that in addition to Sereen's latest project, she also creates a lot of her work to benefit survivors of sexual abuse and human trafficking. These causes are very dear to her heart, and you can really see her passion for healing and restoration when you look at her paintings. So I encourage you to check out her other work, too!
I'll contact the lucky winner on Thursday, December 9th and announce it on my Facebook page.
I hope you enjoy this giveaway! You can enter below, and feel free to tell your friends!
