Enchanted Forest- A coloring book for grown-ups. Genius. My sister-in-law got me this as a birthday present this year, and I love it. It's full of beautifully intricate illustrations just waiting to be filled in. You don't have to sit there and stress yourself out about not being creative enough or talented enough to come up with an artistic masterpiece because it's already been done for you. Just pick some pretty colors and start a colorin'. I think there is just something about coloring that calms the soul and clears the mind. And the best part is, you don't have to wait until you're with kids to bust out this coloring book because it's super hip right now. Like feel free to pack up some colored pencils, buy yourself a frappuccino and work on it at Starbucks kind of hip.
Candles- I love candles! What more can I say? I know it's totally cliché, but if you're trying to relax, you really can't go wrong with lighting a candle. Well, I guess you technically could if you bought one that smelled bad or it accidentally caught your house on fire. But if you find a good smelling one and use it responsibly, you really can't go wrong. Anyway, I got this one as a gift, but here is the same scent in a different container. It smells fantastic. Etsy is a great place to find homemade, all-natural candles like these from Coco and Bubbles that I've been wanting to try.
Kiriki Press- I have to be honest, I've never been into embroidery, but I was willing to pick it up if it meant I could make one of these. They are adorable, and they have all sorts of animals/patterns to choose from. They have starter kits for beginners like me, which teach you everything you need to know. I made this fox for Evie, and it looks so cute on the bench in her room. I think she likes it because she always wants to chew its ears. And then I have to yank it away and remind her that I spent many hours making it with my own two hands. All in all, it's a fun way to relax, and when you're done, you have this artfully made mini masterpiece that you can show your friends and say "I MADE this!"
And they will be impressed.
Citrus Zinger Biggie- This water bottle is great because it has a built in citrus juicer, so you can make drinking water a little more interesting. And tastier. This is a wonderful concept for someone like me who has a hard time drinking the proper amount of water each day. Not that I'm against drinking water, I just forget. But this has actually made me look forward to drinking water, and it's healthy. So far I've tried lemons and grapefruit in my water. It's nice and refreshing, and I'm now drinking at least half of my daily requirement of water. It's a start.
