I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!
This past month has been both a crazy and a good month for little Nora.
She's such a chunky little nugget, and we love it. I could just kiss her cheeks all day. At her six month doctor visit she weighed 15 pounds, 6 ounces. And she loves baby food. She is so excited to eat, which I don't quite remember being the case with Evie (who is still so picky). Nora usually has a pretty calm, happy disposition, but when she's eating you better make sure there is another spoonful immediately after the one before it or you will be on the receiving end of a very feisty, very loud, and very forceful shriek of demand. She also grabs at her puffs like she's mad at them for not being in her mouth already, which actually only worsens the situation because they end up scattering everywhere and then there are no puffs on her tray. We've learned to not mess with Nora when it comes to food...
She is sleeping THROUGH the NIGHT. This is really huge. And I know I already mentioned it in another post, but it is worth repeating and also worth noting that it is consistent.
She's babbling and gibbering a lot more these days. Lots of different sounds and lots of squeals and exclamations. She giggles too, usually when we kiss her on her neck or nose or tickle her or when Evie is doing something goofy. She loves watching Evie. I can't wait for them to be able to really play together, it'll be so much fun.
I'm really late in writing this, but I'm trying to only write about things that happened in this past month (from Nov.13-Dec.13)...Sooo, Nora has become much more coordinated and can push herself on all fours and rock back and forth. She can also do some sort of yoga pose...maybe a very low-level downward dog, where she is on her hands and balls of her feet with her butt up in the air. Presently, she has officially crawled for the first time (just a few little scoots). But I'll save the details of that for next month's update because it happened yesterday (sooo exciting!).
Smiling is one of her favorite things, and really, a smiling baby is one of the best resources in making new friends.
If you look really closely in the below photo, you can see her first two little teeth that have fully come in now!
Overall things keep getting easier every month. I'm still really, really tired by the end of the day, and sometimes I just feel mentally exhausted. I think I need to work on more coming up with more engaging activities for me and Evie (if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!), or maybe I need to work on my own frame of mind as well. I don't know. Sometimes I'm just not sure what to do with all of us, if you know what I mean. But definitely as a whole, we are in a pretty good place. Nora has been such a joy of a baby, living up to her middle name, and we are so blessed to have her. I think I included all the major things for this month...I need to get better at writing these on time...
We love you Nora!
