I have really sweet friends.
This past weekend they helped me celebrate this new little lady that will be joining our family very soon by throwing me a lovely, laid-back, twinkly-light and sweet-treat filled shower. And if you know me, you know that this combination hits me right in that warm, fuzzy, feeling-loved spot.
Traditional baby showers are great, and I was blessed with one of those with Evie, but there's just something good for my soul in simply sitting around on a breezy spring night just talking with good people and eating good food. Especially at this stage in my pregnancy journey when sitting is just about all I want to do with myself. Some of my best friends who live out of town came, too, which was so awesome and meant so much to me to be able to spend some time with them before life gets real crazy. I feel very much loved and supported as we transition to being a family of four.
Toward the end of the night, everyone prayed for us, which I so appreciated. They prayed for Evie to welcome her sister with love, for a smooth and safe delivery and for us to have wisdom in how to feed our new daughter if breastfeeding proves to be complicated like last time. These have been my main worries, but I feel like God is slowly lifting a lot of my fear, and I am feeling so much more peace and security knowing that He is with us and reassuring us.
So thank you so much, friends, if you're reading this! I love you, and I am one lucky gal!
Hope you enjoy these photos of the night!
