On the 13th Nora turned nine months old!
This month, I've really felt like she's becoming more and more her own little person. I know that sounds silly, but she just seems older this month. She's becoming less and less like a baby, and it's amazing to watch, but it's bittersweet. Where does the time go??
Her hair is getting thicker, especially in the back. Because the hair is so short and new, it's ridiculously fuzzy. I love running my fingers through it.
She is crawling up a storm and can now pull herself up into a standing position. Sometimes, I think she tries to test out her leg strength because she'll keep holding onto whatever she's holding and bend her knees like she's doing squats. It's really funny to watch.
Just yesterday she added climbing onto the door of the dishwasher to her set of skills. She's sneaky with it, though, and won't do it while I'm watching. I just look and suddenly she's hanging out on top of the dishwasher door. Constant vigilance with this one.
Sadly, she may be in a sort of sleep regression. I hear these happen basically all the time. She was consistently sleeping through the night, and I thought, Finally!! The light at the end of my sleep deprived tunnel has arrived! But she pulled a fast one on me, and now she gets up once anywhere between midnight and 4am. Sometimes she sleeps straight through, though. It's hit or miss. Although I'm wondering if I just can't hear the monitor on the nights I think she sleeps straight through. Because that's happened multiple times....but she seems just fine when I go to get her in the morning. I really wish we were past this. I already did my time, man.
Well, it could be way worse.
Doesn't this look like a baby who could sleep all night? I sure think so. That is some comfy looking sleep right there.
She loves talking and jibbering and squealing. She loves swinging in the baby swings at the park with her little legs sticking straight down and kicking as she swings. She loves food and putting things that aren't food in her mouth. She loves crawling real fast and pulling up on things and climbing all over you if you're anywhere near her. She loves smiling at people and staring at people who wear glasses. She also, to her sister's great dismay, loves grabbing things.
She does not like being left alone. She doesn't like to spend very long in her jumper. She doesn't like being put into her car seat, but once she's in it she's fine. She also doesn't really like to rest on me or snuggle unless I'm walking around with her in the baby wrap. This makes me sad because sometimes I really just want a little baby snuggle. But she's like a meerkat, always watching and looking and keeping her head up in case she misses something. Evie was the same way.
One of our favorite things to do right now is to go to the beach a little before sunset. The weather is so nice, and we can spend a good two hours there, watch the sunset, and the girls stay entertained. It's a relaxing and fun and really beautiful way to spend a couple of hours, especially when Mike is working.
I think that's the main stuff from this month.
We love you, Nora!
